Chamber Members Speak Out

Barb & Merle Skinner from Christian Family & Children’s Center & Champion Christian School says . . .

“The Christian Family & Children’s Center appreciates the benefits of being a member of the MLCC. The Chamber has a history of being highly committed to promoting local businesses and the Laurel Highlands community itself. As members, the Chamber provides us with inside information and connections to other community leaders and businesses. And for us, the Chamber flyer is, by far, the best way to get the word out about events to the community. We encourage any business to contact Kris and join the Chamber.”

Juliann Brown from Alpine Retreat Bed & Breakfast says . . .

“The reason I joined the Chamber is not only to promote community awareness of teh businesses that I have advertised but also because the advertising price is such a bargain! If you look at other mediums for carrying a message to the local community (new and existing customers) via direct mail, the ad pricing is a great value. Delivering direct to the customers home is an expensive option. Either the cost of doing it yourself, stamps, or a mailing permit are both way more expensive than the MLCC flyer that goes out once a month.”

Jamie Stilley from Amerikohl Mining, Inc. says . . .

“MLCC provides Amerikohl with outreach to the community through flyers, meetings and events. Developing and mainting healthy relationsihps with the community is essentila. We believe awareness of our involvement in the area is a two-way street and the MLCC leadership understandings. Since joining, Amerikohl has been able to promote safety, jobs and economic benefits which is what commerce is about. We intend to stay permanently involved with the MLCC because of these added benefits.”

Tom Guiher from Living Treasures Wild Animal Park says . . .

The Chamber has been a big help to the continued success of my family business. MLCC has provided us the connection with both the local community and tourism with the chamber flyer and the office and staff.”

Abe Wagner from Berkshire Hathaway the Preferred Realty Donegal says . . .

I joined to share concepts and ideas that I’ve gathered through other volunteer commitments thinking that it might help our community and grow our membership. In fact, being a BOD for the Chamber has given me even more opportunities to learn and grow! We are a network of business owners looking to help our businesses be successful and in turn help our community prosper. We work together, share successes and failures, strategize, and look to what the future may bring our way.”

Deanna Richter from LHTC Broadband says . . .

We joined the Chamber because it’s important to our business to be a good business citizen. We want to help provide opportunities to the communities we serve. Being a member of the Chamber gives us the ability to do that by networking with other businesses, as well as, communicating with the residents through their monthly newsletter.”

Mark Hughes, owner of Hughes Physical Therapy says . . .

“When Kris asked me 2 years ago if I would be interested in a position on the MLCC board I was excited to be considered for this position. As a Doctor of physical therapy and owner of Hughes Physical Therapy I try to provide the best care possible to the community. What a better way to extend my support and be an ambassador to our community. This is an exciting time for our chamber and I am proud to a member. “
