IT’S TIME!! Do you know that every YEAR the federal government distributes more than $675 BILLION, that’s with a B, to states and communities?? And guess how they allocate that money … It is all BASED ON CENSUS DATA.

Our United States Constitution REQUIRES that every 10 years we take a count of America’s population. And 2020 is a census year. As we get ready for the Nov 5th election here are a few reasons WHY you need to complete your CENSUS.

• It determines how many representatives each state gets in Congress and is used to redraw district boundaries.
• Communities use the info to plan for new roads, schools, and emergency services.
• Businesses us the information to determine where to open new business, if there is an employee base and if there are consumers to purchase their products!
• Education! Did you know census money is allocated for education programs too?

Yes, there are more reasons, but I think you’ll see why you should be encouraging family, friends, and colleges to be completing their CENSUS too! At the State of Westmoreland County meeting we were told that for every family of 5 that DOES NOT complete the survey the county loses $100,000!
